We had hoped to be able to hold a version of our usual Remembrance Sunday Service this year. Regrettably, Government Advice appears to suggest that only Local Authorities may hold Services. Whilst we have asked for clarification; in the absence of other guidance we must form the conclusion that to hold the service at all would break the law.
Accordingly, we regret that public participation is not possible this year.
We would instead urge you to leave a Tribute; the Virtual Field of Remembrance arranged by the Royal British Legion is the best place to do so; please click here to find out more.
A private wreath laying and two minute silence willl take place. Representatives of the United States and Airfield will be present.
We regret that, aside from Jimmy's Cafe when open, the airfield remains closed to the public due to COVID. This applies to both Museums and the War Memorial Garden.
